So, What Are Aptitudes?
Aptitudes: What you are naturally designed to do.
You are born with aptitudes that do not change over time. These traits are as unique to you as your DNA. For example, if you are right- or left-hand dominant, you would consider your dominant hand to be your aptitude.
Skills: What you can learn to do.
You develop skills and knowledge as you spend time developing them. If you’re naturally right-handed, you would likely choose to develop skills with your right hand.
Interests: What you would like to do.
You acquire interests based upon your exposure; therefore, interests tend to change over time. In many cases, students might have an aptitude but not an interest in a career because they’ve never been exposed to it.
